Complete Refurbish
As equipment ages and the machine components begin to fail the machine casting normally remains as good as the day it was originally shipped from the manufacture. TEC offers all types of rebuild services on all brands of tufting machinery, whether it be a complete rebuild at TEC’s facility or just a repair on one area of the machine by our experienced service personnel at your location, TEC offers it all. One of the biggest benefits of rebuilding your existing frame is the significant cost savings verses purchasing new equipment, as the refurbished machine’s capabilities are normally very comparable to new equipment.

Yarn Feed Attachments
Yarn Feed attachments are the mechanisms which will feed the yarn to the needle during the tufting process. This process has evolved over the years from feeding all yarns at one constant rate to feeding any given yarn at any given rate at any given time. Servo yarn feed mechanisms are today’s standard in the commercial market and are quickly becoming the benchmark in the residential market.

Dual Yarn Feed
This is the typical yarn feed system used on most machines in the industry. It is comprised of four grit covered rolls driven together by one common drive. It can be mounted on front, rear, or both sides of the tufting machine.

Specs
• Available for machines up to 208” • Twelve individual rollers per attachment, grouped in fours. • Yarn wraps around four(4) rollers to eliminate slippage • Can be mechanically or servo driven • Attachment has entrance and exit yarn spreader guides |
Benefits
Provides consistent yarn control due to maximum yarn wrap on all 4 rolls. |
Quick Change
A quick change attachment consists of at least two(2) yarn feed rollers which are driven at different speeds. The unique design allows for a quick and efficient way to change which yarns are being feed by the different rollers. TEC’s attachment is typically servo driven but can be driven by clutches or other means.

Overview
TEC’s unique design creates the fastest quick thread attachment in the industry. We incorporate a driven roller covered with sand paper and a quick release compression roller to make style changes easily and efficiently. The compression roller is connected to the driven roller with a latching mechanism operated by air cylinders. This allows a constant tension to be on the yarns as the attachment is in motion. With the press of a button the air pressure is released allowing the compression roller to be easily removed for the next style setup. The attachment is a modular design allowing the customer to add as many rollers as they need, either initially or in the future as their needs change.

• Reduction of setup time - quickest in the industry • Positive yarn control • Cleaner and crisper patterns • Fully automated for easy pile adjustment • Modular design for future expansion • Infinite pile heights on a given roll |
Scroll
A scroll attachment is made up of individual rollers which are capable of running different speeds. Each roller will control a certain number of yarns. The number of rollers for the attachment is dependent on the pattern width desired and the gauge of the machine (needles per inch). Conventional scroll attachments were introduced as 2 or 3 pile height capable. These attachments are used to make floral and flowing type patterns. Available in servo or clutch driven.

Servo
Up to 144 rolls. Each individual roller is driven by a servo motor. The servo allows for precise movement and change of speed. This quick speed change allows better control of the yarn and results in smoother and crisper patterns. With the addition of the servo motor the range of pile heights is almost unlimited.

• Servos change speeds much faster than mechanical devices allowing for more changes in vertical design of pattern. • Repeatability in daily operation and setup • Clean break points during pile height changeover • Faster state changes mean crisper patterns |
Quad Servo
This is a split Dual Yarn Feed with two(2) rolls each driven by a servo motor. This configuration will allow the machine to sew two(2) different pile heights during one stitch. This attachment uses conventional rolls and requires the yarn to be cut and re-threaded for different roll wrap sequences.

Specs
• Utilizes two(2) rollers for the “S” wrap of the yarns • One(1) servo motor and reducer drive each set of rollers • Desired yarns have to be cut, threaded and tied to change wrap sequence • Available up to 208” tufting width |
Benefits
• Lower cost alternative for multiple pile height loop carpet • Allows for more pattern capability then standard yarn Dual Yarn Feed |
Clutch Driven
Up to 144 rolls. Each roll is driven by a electromagnetic clutch. There is one clutch for each pile height on each roll. All clutches for each pile are tied together and driven via a mechanical gear reducer driven from the main shaft. A 144 roll 3 pile clutch scroll would have 432 individual clutches. When a certain clutch is energized the corresponding roller turns the same speed that the clutch is driven.

Needle Bar Shifters
Needlebar shifters are used to move the needles laterally while the machine is tufting. As the needle bar comes out of the backing material on the up stroke the shifter will move the needles in increments of the machine gauge so that when the needle reaches the looper it is in the correct position to sew. By shifting the yarn to a different hook a pattern will be created.

AutoStep Servo Shifter
Our AutoStep Servo Shifter allows for unlimited step sequencing. While a traditional cam shifter requires a different cam for each step sequence a servo shifter can precisely and quickly change from one sequence to the next by utilizing our AutoLink software.

Specs
• Available in 16.5” or 23.25” diameters • Running speeds up to 1250 rpm • Extends approximately 32” from end of tufting machine • Requires manual adjustment for accurate positioning of needle bar |
Benefits
The cam type shifter is a low cost solution for stepping the needle bar when you only run a limited number of stepping patterns on a particular machine. However, the cam shifter has a limited 54 step repeat, thus limiting design capabilities. |
Servo Cloth Feed
Cloth feed refers to the input and output rollers that move the primary backing through a machine. These attachments consist of two(2) spike rollers, one on each side of the tufting machine, along with two(2) other smooth rollers. The spike rollers are driven at different speeds to maintain a tension on the primary backing. The speed of the backing sets the stitch rate of the fabric.
